Workshops & Sessions

Workshops & Sessions

Watch the video to see an example of the activity-based well-being workshops we hold for our junior explorers. Since then, we have developed and tested 4 modules that introduce different well-being topics that are relevant to their needs.

Volunteering Roles

Group Facilitator

Lead and engage with a small group of children (4-5 primary school students) during the sessions. Group Facilitators help in facilitating the activities and carrying out observations for the group.

Befriender

Support the group facilitator to manage the group effectively by providing necessary support to students on a 1-to-1 engagement basis. Befrienders will carry out observations for the student.

Sub-Committee EXCO

To provide planning and logistical support for our other efforts, such as our marketing and welfare sub-committees.
We are not accepting any new EXCO members as of now.

I have rarely come across an organisation who prepares and debriefs the volunteers so well! Throughout the whole process I felt very supported.

The lesson themes are meaningful for the children. They put in effort to engage the children while maintaining flexibility to adjust (e.g. games implementation, in-session support, etc) after feedback from volunteers.

I enjoyed my experience volunteering with Forte360 as I both understood and saw how the role I played as a facilitator shaped positive behaviour in the children I worked with, not just in terms of the way the children interacted with one another but also in terms of the level of confidence they had in engaging in class.

Not only did Forte360 provide training and workshops free of charge, they have also provided multiple opportunities for volunteers to put the newly attained skills and knowledge into practice! Divya and her team are always kind, understanding and supportive towards volunteers. I think it’s also great that they’re always looking to gather feedback to improve their programmes! It shows that they truly care about the quality, effectiveness and impact of their work.

The sessions planned were meaningful to my personal growth and I liked the inclusion of welfare (snacks and drinks) after each session.

There is a lot of practical experience to be gained from all the workshops and actual volunteering. The team is very approachable and they are willing to answer all our questions. They are also very helpful and always open to new and different feedback and opinions.

Approachable and very receptive to ideas and suggestions. This is a noble effort to work with children with different dynamics.

The lesson plan, briefings and debriefings were cohesive and involved a lot of our opinions as well as check-ins which I really appreciated. They were aligned with what I had learnt in school which I felt were beneficial for both the children and the facilitators, in terms of consolidating learnings and finding room for growth in general.

We were trained well for the volunteering experience through the volunteer training session and session briefings. Prompt response was also given to volunteers which is very much appreciated! The snacks and beverages after each session was such a nice gesture. Overall, it was structured and well-organised, while remaining flexible to changes as needed.

The team does their best to empower us as volunteers by providing us with training and as much information about the sessions as possible. The program covered was meaningful and fun.

It was a very fun and fulfilling experience. I was initially a bit reluctant to work with children due to my lack of experience in that environment, but after attending 5 sessions with the kids, it turned out to be a lot more heartwarming and enjoyable than I expected.

It was very enriching, and enlightening. I enjoyed every session so much, and stepped out of the room feeling very fulfilled each time. (…) I was able to open my horizons, and see the real life examples of what I should do and improve on from my fellow volunteers. I was able to take away valuable experiences and realise that skills and tips might not work for every child, but the fundamental concepts and techniques are still relevant, such as consistency and understanding.

Everyone is friendly and interacting with the kids was fun! I appreciate Kerry and Divya's friendliness and openness to feedback and about what we would be doing.

The lessons were well planned! I think the team was very flexible and made the modifications necessary to suit the dynamics of the group of students better. I also really appreciated the debrief sessions as I could clarify all my doubts and get valuable advice from fellow volunteers, as well as Kerry, Divya and our well-being safety officer, Brenda!
